| Fantastic day !
Easy start in the Swiss Mittelland. The Jura mountain range had some warm air advection and thus not very reliable thermals. A different airmass around the Rhein river caused lots of spread-out and low cloudbase (1600 MSL) in the Southern part of the Black Forest. The Swabian Alp had some brilliant conditions with very strong and reliable climbs. On the way back South towards Schänis the conditions weakened considerably between the Swabian Alp and Lake Constance. Due to the northerly wind, the southern shore of the lake had blue but strong thermals. Entry into the Churfirsten mountain range was quite easy due to very strong climbrates. Cloudbase in the northern part of the Alps was only 2500m but the airmass seemed to be really good. Good prospects for the upcoming days :-) |
